Directly related to "teaching music"
Both Ephesians and Colossians encourage Christians to neglect the ways of the world and turn to the encouragement and edification of music. Factors that alter the effectiveness of worship music are place, type, style, lyrics in relation to theology... The role of music plays an important role in "church life" and can be used for spiritual revelation, meditation, and edification. |

Definition
Cultural dancing- expression of pride in one's culture
Religious dancing- discouraged in some churches. However, much like music, it is an expression of one's love and worship of his or her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Social dancing- school dances, parties, weddings, ect. Often a celebration, but sometimes looked at as "inappropriate" by some Christians.
Seductive dances- Considered "immoral" outisde of a marriage relationship.
All problems with dance are considered scruples within Christian society since there are no black and white rules in scripture. |
