Cards Term conic projection Definition A map projection involving the projection of part of the globe onto a cone shaped surface. Term interdependent Definition Dependent on each other. Term natural resource map Definition A type of map that shows where resources and minerals are located. Term contour lines Definition A line on a map that connects points of equal height or depth, in a way that shows high and low areas of land. Term Robinson projection Definition Map projection system that tries to present more accurate representations of area. Term grid system Definition The system of perpendicular, crossed lines of string over the excavation. Term compass rose Definition A figure displaying directions, north, south, east and west on a map. Term political map Definition A map that shows cultural features, like the political boundaries of countries, states, provinces, and cities.
