Definition

Def: There are 4 layers of our atmosphere. They are all above earth traveling up.

Sen: We humans live on the lowest layer of the atmosphere.

Ex1: Thermosphere

Ex2: Stratoshpere

Term

Definition

Def: The transformation of water going to either a water, liquid, or gas.

Sen: If i have a cup of ice and sit it in the sun it will melt, it went from a solid to a liquid.

Ex1: A pot of rice and water on the stove and the steam that it gives off.

Ex2: A melted cup of ice.

Term

120.                         Latent Heat

Definition

Def: A heat that is needed to convert as solid to a liquid or gas.

Sen: A latent hea can be found in the kiten such as a stove.

Ex1: A stove top

Ex2: An Oven

Term

121.                 [image]  Saturation Point

Definition

Def: A stage where a substance can no longer be absored or dissolved.

Sen: I see saturated point when i am dissolving salt into water.

Ex1: salt in water

Ex2: Sugar in coffe

Term
122. Relative Humidity[image]
Definition

Def: The amount of water vapor that is in the air and the percentage of the needed saturation.

Sen: If water vappor is 20 degrees C then the relative humidity is 52%.

Ex1: Water vapor

Ex2: Saturation

Term
123. Hygrometer[image]
Definition

Def: An instrument used to measure the humidity of the air or gas.

Sen: Hygrometers are used alot by Meteorologists.

Ex1: Atmosphere

Ex2: Meteorologists

Term

124.                             Dew Point

Definition

Def: The temperature in which water droplets condence and dew can form.

Sen: I see Dew on the grass in the moring.

Ex1:Grass

Ex2: Tree

Term
126. Cloud[image]
Definition

Def: A visible mass of condensed waterr vapor floating in the atmmosphere, high above the ground.

Sen: Precipitation comes from clouds

Ex1: rainfall

Ex: snow

Term
127. Air Mass[image]
Definition

Def: A body of air with horizontally uniform temperature, humidiy and pressure.

Sen: A cold air mass can come from anyside and go over many places.

Ex1: Cold air

Ex2: Hot air

Term
128. Air pressure [image]
Definition

Def: The force sxerted onto a surface by the weight of the air.

Sen: The air pressurre of the sea level is 101.325

Ex1: Sea level

Ex2:Force

Term
129. Barometer[image]
Definition

Def:An instrument measuring  atmospheric pressure.

Sen: this is used a lot when predicting weather.

Ex1: Forecast

Ex2: altitude

Term
130. Wind[image]
Definition

Def: The natural movement of the air.

Sen: wind blows outside and can at times be dangerous.

Ex1: breeze

Ex2: air current

Term
131. Isobar Map[image]
Definition

Def: An imaginary line or line on a map connecting places of equal barometic pressure.

Sen: They have equal points of pressure.

Ex1: barometer

Ex2: Pressure

Term

132. Factors affecting wind

Definition

The facrors: coriolis effct, friction, pressure gradients.

Sen: The pressure gradients are the ones that effect the pressure gradients.

Ex1: The climate

Ex2: The season

Term

133. Condensation Nuclei

Definition

Def: The size of a cloud droplet on which water vapor condenses.

Sen: They are also called cloud seeds.

Ex1: CCN

Ex2: 0.2 µm
