The idea that the elections are enough the foster democracy. This thinking is found in many societies transitioning to democracy. Even though the non-democratically elected leader relinquish leadership they still exercise so much power the democratically elected leader is seen as impotent.

Proportional Representation- Both the majority and the minority are equally represented
Constitution- Framework of laws that designate specific powers and responsibilities.
Presidential Democracy- Elects a president to the executive level of government.

Definition
Excessive pay for executives- Executives are getting multiples of their paychecks
Low interest rates- people cant live off the interest from their savings, so they cut back their spending which negatively effects the economy.
Subprime Loans- Given to people who would usually be seen as high risk. These are usually given for houses and when they loose the house the bank can sell it for higher.
Deregulation in financial markets- reduction in the governments role in the markets.

Definition
Globalization is help a large number of people live better. It has decreased the size of poverty. But for the people who are still poor they are even worse off.

Advise the presidential candidate with three ideas about global trade.
Definition
Get ride of strategic trade. It supports government subsidies of private industries. This gives and unfair advantage to those companies and goes against free trade.
Remove the ability to use quotas to help the rich. No one should be aloud to set limits on imports just so the rich can sell their product at an escalated price.
Reduce the need for companies like Walmart which increases the reliance on sweatshops in which people work long hours and at bad pay.
