A starfish eats by getting on top of its food, then throwing out it's stomach on top of its' prey. The stomach releases enzymes which helps the starfish half digest it outside of the its body before bringing it back inside the starfishs body to finish digesting it.

Explain how a starfish eats
Definition
Starfish crawls onto of its prey.  The tube feet pry open the shell and then the stomach comes out of its mouth onto to food and releases enzymes.  The enzymes partially digest the food outside of the body.  Then the food is sucked back into the starfish.
