IOP-2: Cold Shutdown  to Hot Standby

Definition

Mode 4 - >200°F to <350°F no equal signs

Term
7 Milestones prior to Mode 5 to Mode 4 Operations...
Definition
  1.  Vacuum Refill
  2.  Manual Bubble PZR

Steam bubble formation is indicated by an increasing pressure, and a marked decrease in PZR heatup rate

  3. Start RCP (Max 2)
  4. Ensure RHR is Secured and aligned for ECCS
  5. Ensure Steam and Condensate Systems are in service
  6. ENSURE at least 50,000 gallons of CVCS holdup tank capacity is available to receive the Reactor Coolant discharged during heatup.

  7. TAC in Service

Modes 5-4

Definition

Mode 5 to Mode 4 RCS Wide Range THOT >200°F

When testing and re-aligning the CS pumps, cycling the 21 & 22CS2s prevents hydraulic lock

Unblock Auto SI I&C lift a couple of jumpers

Setting the MSIO setpoints to 100-110 psig equates to an RCS temperature of 338°F to 345°F. This will allow for automatic heat removal to preclude an inadvertent Mode change.

RHR discharge piping is to be cooled below 248°F to prevent voiding and potential water hammer should RHR be re-established within 24 hours and during Check Valve testing.

Modes 4-3
Definition

RCS pressure is limited by Steam Generator ∆P until RCS temperature exceeds 510°F IAW TM.ZZ-0001, RCS Temperature - Pressure Curves.

When RCS pressure is greater than the SI Accumulator pressures, throttle and then open the SJ54s

PRIOR TO exceeding RCS pressure of 1000 psig:

·        INITIATE PT.CAN-0001, Containment Walkdown.

·        ENSURE 2CV114, Seal Bypass Flow Valve is CLOSED.

·        ENSURE 23 Charging Pump Fluid Drive linkage is in the higher pressure position (top hole).

When PZR pressure >1700#, initiate Controlled Pressurization of PZR Safety Valves different from IOP-8

·        On indication of leakage, reduce pressure to a known good pressure and soak for 1 hour

·        <2235# for >48 hrs, or <1700# for shutdown

o   200#/hr raise to 2000 psig  / 30 min soak

o   100# raise / 30 min soak, repeat 2200 to 2235 @ ≤70#/hr

·        ≥1700 during the shutdown and <2235# for ≤48 hours

o   ≤200#/hr

·        Mind P-11

Test 23 AFP within 24 hours of exceeding 680°#

Ensure P-11 and P-12 automatically reinstate, or manually unblock
