• ex. Is, was, shake, undulate

Part of sentence that contains a verb that tells something about the subject.

• ex. The girl in the red hat shook the man's hand.

A clause that has a subject and a predicate and can stand by itself as a complete sentence.  

• Also known as a  simple sentence.  

• Ex.  I ran.

1. Capitlaize the first word in a sentence.
2. Put an end punctuation (.?!) at the end.

• SV:  Subject-Verb
