Cards Term Circumference Definition Peremiter of the circle. Distance around edge of circle. Term Cord Definition Segment conneting 2 pts on the circumferece of the circle. Term Congruent Circle's Definition Circle's with the same radii. Term Secant Definition Ray or line that passes thru the circle 2 times. Term Tangent Definition Ray or line that touches the circle at exactly 1pt, but never enters the circle. Term Point of Tangency Definition Point where tangent touches the circle. Term Interior of Circle Definition Inside the circle. The line around the circle (circumference) doesn't count. Term Enterior of Circle Definition Out side of the circle. The line around the circle (circumference) counts as exterior. Term Concetrec Circle's Definition Circles with the same center point. Term Tangent to a Circle Definition a. Common enternal tangents where tangents just touch on top of both circles or on the bottom of both. b. common internal tangents where tangents touch on top of one and bottom of other or right and left. Term Circle's Tangent to each other Definition a. Externally tangent where no interior of circle touch and it just touches on one point on exterior. b.Internallly tangent where one circle is inside the other and there exteriors touch. Term Thm. Definition If a line is tangent to a circle then it is perpaendicular to the radius drawn to the point of tangency. Term Thm. Definition If 2 segments from the same exterior point are tangent to a circle then they are congruent.
