Deforestation is the removal of a forest or stand of trees where the land is thereafter converted to a non-forest use. Affects the carbon cycle. Has caused an increase in the CO2 in the atmosphere. This contributes to climate change. The soil is eroding which will lead to the land becoming infertile and flooding. Animals are losing their habitats.
