any fruit or 100% fruit juice counts as part of the Fruit Group. Fruits may be fresh, canned, frozen, or dried, and may be whole, cut-up, or pureed. Some commonly eaten fruits are: apples, apricots, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, cherries, grapefruit, grapes, kiwi, lemons, limes, mangoes, cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon, nectarines, oranges, peaches, pears, papaya, pineapple, plums, prunes, raisins, and tangerines.

Any vegetable or 100% vegetable juice counts as a member of the Vegetable Group. Vegetables may be raw or cooked; fresh, frozen, canned, or dried/dehydrated; and may be whole, cut-up, or mashed. Artichokes, asparagus, avocado, bean sprouts, beets, Brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, cucumbers, eggplant, green beans, peppers, lettuce, mushrooms, okra, onions, turnips, zucchini, squash, peas, broccoli, potatoes, spinach, carrots, corn, and pumpkin are foods included in the Vegetable Group.

Definition
All foods made from meat, poultry, seafood, eggs, nuts, and seeds are considered part of the Meat Group. Foods in the Meat group are high in protein. Meats, poultry, eggs, nuts, seeds, and seafood are included in this group.
