A medium sized body of water that is nearly surrounded by land. It is located between the Arabian Peninsula and the mainland of ASIA. The Tigris and Euphrates Rivers empty out into the northern edge of the gulf. The STarit of Hormuz connects the gulf to the Arabian Sea at the southern edge.
