- Stress can result if not everything falls into place

- Organizations do not function in isolation

- Created to meet some external demand

- Set of values that articulate the reason for existence, philosophy, and purpose.  

- When goals do not meet values, there is a loss of focus

- Structure must be put into place to make the organization operational

- Structure produces psychological change and climate change

- Climate and culture are not the same

- Culture is understandings and beliefs on how things are done

- Climate is affected by culture

- Problems in climate can be traced to culture and structure

- Organizations are in a constant state of flux due to external influences
