Outside mirrors and brackets should be:

Securely mounted, no loose or missing nuts or bolts

The brackets should not be bent or cracked

The mirrors should be clean, not cracked or warped and be well adjusted to the driver

The door:

Should open and close cleanly

The hinges should be securely mounted with no loose or missing nuts or bolts, should not be cracked and be well greased

The window should open and close cleanly

The step should be:

Securely mounted, no loose or missing bolts, have no grease, oil or trash on the step

The battery box and cover should be:

Securely mounted, no signs of looseness

To check the batteries, I would remove the cover and check that the support brackets are securely mounted to keep the batteries in place

I would make sure the batteries are not cracked or leaking and if maintenance type batteries, I would check the fluid and add fluid, if needed

I would check that the battery cables are securely mounted to the poles, have no excessive corrosion and no loose, broken or bare wires

The fuel tank:

Should sit well in its support brackets

The tank straps should be securely mounted to the frame and have no loose, missing or corroded nuts or bolts

The straps should have their rubber gasket between the straps and tank to minimize metal to metal contact

The tank should not be cracked, dented, corroded or leaking

The cross hose should not be hanging, swollen, cracked or leaking

The fuel cap should not be corroded and should have a safety chain with a t-bar and gasket in the cap to prevent leaking

The cap should not be leaking
