Every other non-doubled cyclic is something along the lines of:

cyclohexane

cyclopentane

cyclobutane

Term

cyclooctane, with two 'o's
Term

Definition

cyclopentylcyclohexane

one of the hardest, for me.

Two rules here:

1. Since there are no separate words, you can't go by alphabet - you have to go by the number of carbons

2. Since the hexane is the 'main' thing, pentane is an add-on, so it becomes a -tyl ending, except this is cyclopentyl.
