  • Generic Name: buprenorphine and naloxone
  • Trade Name: Suboxone
  • Indications: used to treat narcotic (opiate) addiction
  • Dose Range and Routes: Sublingual film, day 1 up tp 8 mg/2mg sublingually. Maintenance of progressively adjusting in increments/decrements of 2mg/0.5 mg or 4mg/1mg to a level that holds the patient in treatment and suppresses opioid withdrawal symptoms. 
  • Side Effects: constipation, drunk feeling, nausea, vomiting, insomnia

  • Generic Name: Aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone
  • Trade Name: Mylanta
  • Indications: used to ease too much gas in the stomach, treat heartburn and upset stomach
  • Dose Range and Routes: shake well before use. Take after meals and at bedtime.
  • Side Effects: chalky taste, constipation or diarrhea
  • Special Considerations: give other drugs 1 hour before or 2 hours after giving antiacid.

  • Indications: blocks gastric acid production. Used to treat severe esophagitis, GERD, and gastric and duodenal ulcers.
  • Dose Range and Routes: should not be crushed. initial 40mg once daily for 8 weeks, maintenance 40 mg/day.
  • Side Effects: rash (do not give next due unless approved by nurse), muscle cramps, tremors or seizures

  • Special Considerations: should not take if you have untreated or uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma
