PRIVATE AND NEGATIVE PRESSURE ROOM; WEAR A MASK/FACE SHIELD;LIMIT MOVEMENT OF PATIENT

DROPLET PRECAUTIONS

(rubella, strep throat, pna, pertussis, mumps, mycoplama or meningococal pna)

• private room
• mask within 3 feet of patient
• visitor kept 3 feet away from patient
• limit client movement from the room; if transport have client wear mask

Contact Transmission-Based Precautions

respiratory syncytial virus, shigella and other enteric pathogens; major wound infections, herpes simplex, scabies

• private room
• gloves (remove before leaving the room)
• gown (remove before leaving the room)
• limit movement of client in the room
• avoid sharing equipment
