Term
Natural Resource
Definition
Natural resources are naturally occurring substances that are considered valuable in their relatively unmodified form
A natural resource 's value rests in the amount and extractability of the material available and the demand for it. The latter is determined by its usefulness to production.
Term
Rewnewable resource
Definition
newable resource - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A natural resource qualifies as a renewable resource if it is replenished by natural processes at a rate comparable or faster than its rate of consumption by humans or other users. Solar radiation, tides, winds and hydroelectricity are perpetual resources that are in no danger of long-term availability
Term
Nonrewnewable resource
Definition
A non-renewable resource is a natural resource that cannot be re-made, re-grown or regenerated on a scale comparative to its consumption. It exists in a fixed amount that is being consumed or used up faster than it can be made by nature. Fossil fuels (such as coal, petroleum and natural gas) and nuclear power are non-renewable resources, as they do not naturally re-form at a rate that makes the way we use them sustainable and consumer materials to produce electricity.
Term
Fossil Fuels
Definition
Fossil fuels or mineral fuels are fossil source fuels, that is, hydrocarbons found within the top layer of the Earth’s crust. Fossil fuels range from volatile materials with low carbon: hydrogen ratios like methane, to liquid petroleum to nonvolatile materials composed of almost pure carbon, like anthracite coal
Term
Photovoltaic Cells
Definition
a photovoltaic module is a packaged interconnected assembly of photovoltaic cells, also known as solar cells. An installation of photovoltaic modules or panels is known as a photovoltaic array or a solar panel.
Term
Crude Oil
Definition
crude oil is a naturally occurring, flammable liquid found in rock formations in the Earth consisting of a complex mixture of hydrocarbons of various molecular weights, plus other organic compounds
