Definition
Trauma pt's will be transported to the area's trauma center if transport time does not exceed 20 minutes; pt's can be transported an additional 10 minutes to a max of 30 min, if the provider based resources at the time of transport allow.

1. Adults with BP <90 Sys or ped with BP <70 Sys.

2. Penetrating cranial injury

3. Penetrating thoracic injury between the midclavicular lines

4. Gunshot wound to the trunk

5. Blunt injury to chest with unstable chest wall

6. Penetrating injury to neck

7. Diffuse abd tenderness

8. Pt's surviving falls from heights >15 ft.

9. Intrusion of the vehicle into passenger spc

10. Pt's in cardiopulmonary arrest with penetrating torso trauma

11. Blunt head injury associated with ALOC (GCS = or <14, excluding pts less than 1 year), seizures, unequal pupils, or focal neurological deficit.

12. Injury to the spinal column associated with sensory deficit or weakness of one or more extremities.

13. Extremity injuries with neurological and/or vascular compromise, excluding isolated hand or foot injuries

1. Surviving victims of vehicular accidents in which fatalities occurred and who complain of injury

2. Pedestrians struck by automobiles

3. Pt's ejected from vehicles

4. Pt's requiring extrication

5. Very young and very old pts and those with precarious previous medical hx.

Definition

1. Pts with an obstructed airway

2. Other pts, as determined by the base hospital personnel, whose lives would be jeopardized by transportation to any other hospital but the MAR.
