Centaur has human legs with horse legs behind.
One of the earliest bronze pieces from this culture.

The dedication by Mantiklos is written on the thighs:
"Mantiklos offers me as a tithe to Apollo of the silver bow; do you, Phoibos, give some pleasing favor in return."

Polyphemos Painter, Eleusis neck-amphora, 675-650 BCE, h. 4'8".

Has a lion and boar fighting, light and dark pattern either rope or intertwining snakes.
The 3 gorgones (witches with snakes for hair) are at the top.
Used to deter people from entering as people feared gorgones because they turned people into stones.
Polyphemos was a giant who was a cyclopse, he's sitting as Odisios and other sailors are stabbing him in the eye with a giant spear.

All female figures are smaller, male figures are life-size.
She has a wig on, like egyptians.
The eye is similar but the stance of the feet is not.

* Eastern (Egyptian and Mesopotamian) motifs enter Greek art during the Orientalizing period.
* Homer lived during the 8th century BCE, the era when city-states took shape, the Olympic Games were founded (776BCE), ad the Greeks began to trade with their neighbors to the east and west.
