Definition
Normalessness (Durkheim) there is more to life than what happened withing someones brain. Study of suicide rates- found that likelyhood caries on the culture you are in- certain types of society.

The pattern: Anomie- all of these situations, the order has broken down, the system has broken down. We need pattern, order, structure.
Durkhiem- Sociology is study of social fact
-> external but cohersive of. something is out there (ex. college)
