What causes noncardiogenic pulmonary edema?
Definition
- New onset dyspnea w/ fluffy infiltrates on xray
- Caused by ASA and opiate overdoses, including cocaine and heroine

What causes interstitial pneumonia +/- fibrosis?
Definition
- Dyspnea, dry cough, rash, can lead to death
- Cumulative chemo doses, AMIODARONE > 400 mg or for 2 years

Definition
- Fever, myalgia, rash, arthritis
- 4 drugs: Hydralazine, procainamide, isoniazid, nitrofurantoin. Sometimes minocycline

- Most common DIPD, wheezing, SOB, mimics asthma
- ASA, NSAIDs, non-selective beta blockers
**ASA avoidance, selective BBs, steroids, SABAs

Definition
- COPD, CO2 retention
- Caused by sedating meds: BZDs, NMBAs, narcs
**Stop agent, ventilator, reverse agent w/ ACHase, flumenazil, or naloxone

What causes pulmonary eosinophilia?
Definition
- Fever, tachypnea, bilateral infiltrates, and eosinophils
- Cytotoxic agents, penicillamine, sulfasalazine, nitrofurantoin, NSAIDs, ampicillin, cocaine, MINOCYCLINE
- Stop agent, supportive care. STEROIDS do NOT work
