2. sexual abstinence or effective contraception is mandatory during this period. Women are usually counseled to terminate if they get pregnant during this time. Has no effect on males.
4. there is a report for 154 isotretinoin - exposed pregnancies. Of these, 12 were spontaneously aborted, 95 voluntarily aborted, 21 born with major malformations (3 stillborn and 9 died shortly after birth) and 26 infants were born without any major birth defects.
