Definition
Thickened, velvety hyperpigmented lesions.
Most often found in obese and diabetic patients

Definition
Ring of small, firm, flesh or violet papules.
Must be distinguished from tinea corporis (ringworm - fungal infection).
Treatment: Topical or intralesional corticosteroids

Etiology: EBV

Definition
Diet can treat mild cases
Chronic disorder characterized by intesely burning, pruritic, vesicular rash.
May evolve in time to urticarial papules, vesicles, and bullae.
Associated with gluten sensitive enteropathy
Associated with autoimmune disorders: Hashimoto's thyroiditis, lymphoma and IDDM

Definition
caused by the distention of the skin during pregnancy.
intensely pruritic dermatosis beginning in the third trimester
associated with severe striae. More common in first pregnancy
Treatment: mild corticosteroids and inform OB/Gyn of treatment

Porphyria Cutanea Tarda
Definition
Caused by porphyrins in the skin close to the surface inciting intense photosensitivity reaction and pruritis.
Characterized by erythema, pruritic, edema, and vesicle that can blister in sun exposed areas
Results from deficiency in hepatic uroporphyrinogen decarboxylase activity.
Aquired from is seen in alcoholics, hepatotoxic drug usuers, hepatitis B and C viral infections
Confirmed with biopsy, lab work and 24 hour urine catch for porphyrins

Definition
Red nodule on anterior tibia lesion that affects mostly women
The panniculitis is characterized by pink to red firm nodules with indistinct edges on pretibial surface
Associated with infections, drugs, malignancies, inflammatory conditions

idiopathic connective tissue disease characterized by proximal muscle weakness and violet skin rash on the eyelids, scalp, MP joints and bony prominences
associated with underlying malignancy
