1) The notion that homophobia notes a fear of homosexuals is limiting and that we need to expand the definition to be the fear of being labeled “gay” and not just labeling those who are scared of gays.

2) The term homophobia connotes illness or even diagnosable illness, it does not emphasize the influence or the role that society places in creating homophobia.

3)Homophobia appears to be a gender neutral to all groups, however Gregory thinks otherwise and research has shown that there is a qualitative difference between the hostility that is expressed gay men and that which is expressed towards lesbians.
