What is a hormone? types?
Definition
A hormone is released in the blood stream and acts at a target receptor. The first type is Amino Acid Type (peptide), some examples are: Dopamine, Norepinaphrian, Epinephrina, which are all hydrophillic(charged/polar). Also they are extracellular receptors. The second type is steroids, examples are: testosterone,estrogen,progestrone, cortisol, cholestrol, these are all lipophillic(fat soluble). Also the they are intracellular, the receptors is on the inside.
