Head priest of the Armana Period. Rid of all references to other gods than the sun god Aton. He even changed his name to Akhenaton meaning son of Aton. For his period of reigning, he changed many of the ideas and ways of life that the Egyptians followed and it was evident in the artwork. Egyptians did not like change much, and overthrew Akhenaton to return to old ways.
