a charismatic man he commanded widespread support: in the words of hsi biographer, plutarch 'some seriously gave hi the name of alexasnder, and he did not refuse it.

his rise to power was the outcome of an outstanding seriees of military succcesses combined with a shrewd aproach role in quelling the slave revolt led by spartacus and in suppressing piraccy as factor that helped to make him both immensely powerful and popular

in 60 BC he crassus and julius caesar fromed what came to known as the first triumvirate

these were specifically for poor children with the intended aim of raising the italian birth rate

  • towns not deemed suffiecient  were designated sine suffragio without voting rights

·      black pavement is called – Lapis Niger – opposite of that is ater, atra = dull – atrium = working room of roman houses

·      found altar of tufa blocks and burnt animal bones

·      IMPORTANT FIND: cippus/ stele (boundary marker) made out of tufa that has inscription on it which is archaic latin
