how do the benzimidazoles work?
Definition
the benzimidazoles such as albendazole *inhibit microtubule polymerization by binding to beta-tubulin*. this causes degenerative changes in the integumental and intestinal cells of helminths - resulting in immobilization and death of the parasite.
