  2. Always speak the truth
  3. Refrain from taking anything that is not given to you
  4. Renounce all sexual pleasures

The weight of one's past actions on one's soul that binds one to samsara. It must be overcome by doing you're dharma. In Jainism, it represents itself as the ajiva (matter) binding one's soul (jiva) to the earth. In Hinduism, this is the weight of one's past actions, while in Buddhism it is also the desires of people binding them to the earth
