Definition
Blood pressure is below normal systolic less than 90 mmHg and can be a result of fluid depletion, heart failure, or vasodilation.

Definition
Systolic blood pressure of greater than 140 mmHg and a diastolic blood pressure of greater than 90 mmHg went to or more blood pressure measurements are average. Patient should return for 2 or more of visits for additional blood pressure readings for confirmation. Diagnosis of hypertension is made if the readings are elevated on at least 3 separate occasions over several weeks.
