Definition
stated that the Jewish economic control of the German Home Front contributed to Germany's defeat in WWI and the rise of Communist groups was the reason things were so bad at that time. Following in the footsteps of Mussolini - Hitler and his group attempted an overthrow of the German government in the famous Beer-Hall Putsch, but instead it failed and Hitler was imprisoned for nine months.

it is a complicated and redundant book. He does not talk about the Final Solution (Holocaust) as many suspect. Instead, he focuses on what will make Germany great again.

and that it was mandatory for Germany to be great again they needed to return to what strengthened them - the blood and the soil. Germany needed to recapture its lost lands and it needed to be of pure blood. There is a theory that Hitler believed in only blue eyes/blonde hair - it was not that - it was the pure German blood to which Hitler referred. Hitler and his Nazi theorists once said, "The concept of blood and soil give us the moral right to take as much land in the East as is necessary to establish a harmony between the boyd of our Volk and the geopolitical space." This moral right also involved starting World War II and exterminating the Jews all in support of the superiority of Germany.

Definition
this provided ships and other military supplies to the allies under the direction that these items would be returned. We never did receive these items back from Britain and this program essentially ended our claim of neutrality.

Definition
the Japanese launched two attacks against military bases in Hawaii. The first wave occurred at 7:55 a.m. Hawaiin time. On Ford Island, the ships and their crews were going through their normal routines. Citizens who lived close to the area described the day as a normal day. The Japanese planes swooped down over the row of 8 battleships that were in harbor that day.

Definition
took the worst hit. This took two hits with the second being the worst. Over 1,102 men died onboard the Arizona. One reason they took such a tremendous hit was the day before they had won the general inspection of all the battleships and won the right to sleep in that morning. As a result, they were not up top engaging in their normal routines, most of the men were still below ship, sleeping as a reward.

the attacks occurred in April 1942 and B25's struck four major Japanese cities. Little damage was done to these cities, but it boosted morale and the message to the Japanese was clear, we are not out of the war!

This was a key agency whose purpose was to regulate production, consumption and pricing of goods. For the manufacturers, the OWP issued war contracts and these lucrative contracts could make or break a business.

the federal government stated that companies receiving defense contracts (war contracts) could not have discriminatory hiring practices. Now some companies got around this but the federal government did create agencies like the Fair Employment Practices Committee (FEPC) who had branches in every state to monitory hiring practices.

the riots occurred between military personnel and a group of young Latinos. It was known as the zoot suit riots for the distinctive suits that the young Latino men wore. The riots were a sign that not everyone was accepted even though the country needed everyone's input to make this war a success.

was a cook onboard the USS West Virginia when the attack began at Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941. He went up on deck and one of the guns was unmanned because the soldier was dead. He took command of the gun and fired at the planes until he ran out of ammunition .
