Definition

 

 

A member of a certain class of servants in ancient Sparta. They were people who lived near Sparta, that were made into servents. (overtaken by Spartans)

 

They did all of the farm work on land owned by Spartan citizens, freeing the spartans to wage war.

 

The Helots were treated very harshly.
