Definition
The family of Pepin III. They would try and overthrow the Clovis. He and the pope worked together to overthrow the Clovis and Merovingian rulers.

Another name for Pepin III; he was anointed King by the pope, and in turn broke Rome from the Lombard rule making the papal states which lasted for a long time.

This was Pepin the Short’s son, Charles the Great, he set out to unify all of western Europe, taking over north, south, east and west. The Saxons took 30 years to finally be crushed into submission, he also pushed for Christianity to spread
