Spartikist Revolt

Definition
  • Led by Liebknecht and Luxemburg .The group emerged from the German Social Democratic Party (SPD)
  • They wanted a Communist state
  • December 1918 a revolt aagainst the goverment resulted in 16 spartikist deaths in response to this they formed the German Communist Party (KPD).
  • In January the KPD attmpted to overthrough Ebert and the Weimar Goverment Ebert used the regular army  and the Berlin freikorps to put down the rebellion Luxemburg and Liebknecht were killed,

Definition
  • Private armies which were mainly consisted of/set up by ex soldiors
  • That were set up at the end of ww1
  • These armies refused to dispand after the Weimar goverment imposed measures

  • right wing leader and 5000 Freikorps tried to over thrrough Eberts goverment
  • they felt like the t of v weakened Germany
  • the army refused to shoot becaue the army had sympathy for there cause
  •  was resolved by German workers went on strike causing Kapp to flee the country

Definition
  • 8th november 1923
  • Hitler and many nazis seized burgerbrau keller (a huge beer hall)
  • were Kahr,Lossow and Seisser were attending a political meeting
  • eventually winning promises off of them ,after the leaders had been held at gun point
  • the leaders were allowed to go home and they told the police and Hitler got arrested.
