The angry French mob broke into the bastille and released the prisoners. 

 

 

 

Definition

midieval fortress used as a prison; french angry mob broke into it and killed the guards, releasing the prisoners, but found no weapons

In the event of the Boston Massacre, five civilian men died, due to the British soldiers opening fire.

The Boston Tea Party was an act of protest against the taxes the British were placing among the American.

Definition

A political protest against the tax policy of the British government that controlled all the tea imported into the colonies (Dec. 1773)

In order to declare we were going to become independent states, our founding fathers wrote the Declaration of Independence.

An act of the Second Continental Congress, adopted on July 4, 1776, which declared that the Thirteen Colonies in North America were "Free and Independent States" and that "all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved."

The excutive branch made sure all soldiers were ready to fight against the British.

The federal republic ensures that the power we have is divided among the states and the government.

Louis XVI was deep in debt and was not sure how to repay all those debts.

The National Assembly decided to move their metting to an indoor tennis court.

Popular sovereignty was adopted into our government, in order to avoid any other tyranny.

People longed that their would be separation of powers in order to have government work better.

division of governmental authority among the three branches of government: executive, legislative, and judicial branch. The US Constitution uses this principle in setting up the presidency, the Congress, and the courts

Colonist were outraged, by the Stamp Act the king had placed upon them.

a law passed by the British Parliament requiring all publications and legal and commercial documents in the American colonies to bear a tax stamp (1765)

The Third-Estate took the Tennis Court Oath in an indoor tennis court.

when the new National Assembly was locked out of their meeting hall, they assembled in a nearby tennis court, where they swore to meet until a Constitution was established

The revolution was over after the Treaty of Paris was signed.
