  • He was a finacier who expanded his families banking business.

Definition
  • Lived from 1464 to 1493.
  • Known as the father of modern and political theory.
  • In 1498, he became the secratary of Ten, until the fall of the republic in 1512.
  • Machiavelli was involved in the downfall of his patron,Gonfalon Sodenni.
  • He was arrested on charge of conspiracy in 1513,and tortured.
  • He was obliged to retire from public life and started doing literature.

Filippo Brunelleschi

Definition
  • Lived from 1377 to 1446.
  • He was the son of a lawyer and notary named Brunellesco Di Lippo, and hismother's name was Giuliana Spini.
  • He was trained as a sculptor and goldsmith in a Florentine workshop
  • He developed a technique making the curves of the cupola without supporting framework.

  • He was the the illegitamate son of a Dutch Priest and a woman named Margaret.
  • He was educated at many Monastic schools.
  • Erasmus was a Roman Catholic but disagreed to many traditions of the church.
  • Erasmus wrote the Praise of Holly and the Handbook of a Christian Knight.

  • The city of Nuremberg,1 of the strongest artistic and commercial centers in Europe during the 15th & 16th centuries.
  • Durer apprenticed with his father.
  • By the age of 30 he completed 3 of his most famous seriesof woodcuts on religious subjects.

  • He had an older brothe named Hubert van Eyck,who was an artist too.
