Self awareness is about knowing who we are and what we stand for. It includes the ability to
accurately assess our abilities and become aware of our strengths and weaknesses.

The ability to manage one’s emotions and impulses and adapt to changing
circumstances.

Definition
The ability to sense, understand and react to others’ emotions while
comprehending social networks.
Social awareness is about empathy for other people and how we choose to respond to power in
relationships. It also encompasses how we serve society by making a positive contribution to the
world.

The ability to inspire, influence and develop others while managing
conflict.
Relational competence is about face-to-face interpersonal skills such as communication, feedback,
teamwork and conflict management. Competence in all of these areas is essential to success in life
and work.
