Term
If a dosing interval is less than the half-life of a drug, what does this result in?
Definition
Higher steady state levels and a greater degree of accumulation
Term
How does a smaller volume of distribution affect the flucutation of peak and trough levels?
Definition
Results in a greater fluctuation between peak and trough levels
Term
How does a larger initial plasma concentration affect the fluctuation of peak and trough levels?
Definition
It results in a greater flucutation between peak and trough levels.
Term
When interval is equal to  half-life, what can we assume?
Definition
After one interval, 50% of drug is gone, after two intervals, 75% is gone, etc.
Term
How do you find the Ke?
Definition

In the exponential rate plot equation equation, divide Ke Dose by Dose.  Sounds simple....

Ex: If dose was 400mg...

Ae/t = 31.62e-Ktmidpnt

ke = 31.62/400 = 0.079h-1

Term
How do you find the renal clearance?
Definition
Mutliply ke by the Vd.
