I - coracoid process

A - moves scaoula downward, forward, and medially,

Subclavius

O - costal cartilage of 1st rib

I - inferior surface of clavicle

A - stabilizes the sternal end of the clavicle, depresses        the clavicle

Serratus Anterior

O - outer surface of ribs 1-8

I - costal surface of medial border of the scapula

A -protraction of scapula, upward rotation of glenoid           cavity, keep scapula tight against ribs

I - long thoracic nerve

O - subscapular fossa

I - lesser tubercle of humerus

A - medial/internal rotation of humerus

I - upper & lower subscapular nerve

Teres Major

O - inferior angle and lower lateral border of scapula

A - extension of humerus, adduction of humerus,                  medial/internal rotation of humerus

Latissimus Dorsi

O - spinous processes of T7-T12, illiac crest and                   thoracolumbar fascia

I - floor of the bicipital (intertubercular) groove

A - extension of humers, adduction of humerus,                    medial (internal) rotation of humerus

I - thoracodorsal nerve

Trapezius

O - superior nuchal line, inion/external occipital                     protuberance, nuchal ligament, and spinous                   processes of C7-T12 vertabrae

I- spine of scapula, acromion, and lateral clalvicle

A - upper fibres: elevate scapula

     middle fibres: retract scapula

     lower fibres: derpress scapula

     upper&lower fibres: rotates the gelenoid cavity              upwards

I - spinal accessory nerve (11th cranial nerve)

Levator Scapula

O - transverse processes of C1-C4 vertebrae

I - superior angle and medial border of scapula

A - elevates the medial border of the scapula and                rotates the glenoid cavity downwards

I - dorsal scapular nerve

Rhomboid Minor

O - nuchal ligament and spinous processes of C7-T1            vertebrae

I - medial border of scapula at the base of the spine           (of the scapula)

A - retracts and elevates the scapula, assists in rotating      the glenoid cavity downwards

I - dorsal scapular spine

Rhomboid Major

O - spinous processes of T2-T5 vertebrae

I - lower portion of medial border of scapula

A - retracts and elevates the scapula, assists in rotating      the glenoid cavity downwards

Deltoid

O - lateral third of clavicle, acromion, and spine of                scapula

I - deltoid tuberosity of humerus

A - anterior fibres:internally rotate humerus, weakly flex        and adduct humerus

     middle fibres: abduct humerus

     posterior fibres: externally rotate humerus, weakly          extend and aduct humerus

I - radial tuberosity and by the bicipital aponeurosis to

    the deep fascia on the medial forearm

A - flexion of elbow, supination of forearm, flexion of

Corcobrachialis

O - coracoid process of scapula

I - medial surface of shaft of the humerus (half way 

    down)
