| ESSAY QUESTION- A bureaucracy is a system of government. How did Tang Taizong’s use of a bureaucracy help make his empire stable and secure? In your answer, state two reasons for Tang Taizong’s success. |
|
Definition
Burreaucracy helped Tang Taizong make his empire stable and secure in two ways. First of all, all officials had fixed responsibilities. Every department was headed by an appointed official so everything was organized. The appointed official would make sure that things were efficient by allocating jobs. This way, more jobs that made the empire stable and secure got done.
Secondly, each official had a specific rank. People knew who was in change of whom and there weren't any arguements on who was able to give orders to whom, and who was supposed to take orders from whom. Because the ranks were clear, officials could have also worked hard to try to move up in ranks. In doing so, the the jobs he finish would be better done. |
