General Sheridan thought up a three-pronged attack on the Sioux Indians that were camping in the valley of the Little Big Horn. They army's orders was to wipe out the 7000 Indians that were there.

He disobeyed orders and marched through the night which meant that his horses and men were tired. He also refused extra men and guns and he split his forces so he did not have enough support.
