•The two unemployed groups started a rebellion lead by Daniel Shay
•No more foreclosing on houses, debtors prison, or property taxes
•They terrorized the tax collectors and started a march toward Philadelphia
•In January in Springfield, the community raised money to pay an army to stop the rebellion
•Property taxes were dropped, and a convention was advised to rewrite the articles
