A person who comes over to the colonies by boat. Who ever pays the boat fare when the servant reaches the colonies is who the servant will work for from 4-7 years to pay off their debt before they are set free.

A slave is a person who was usually kidnapped from their homeland in Africa by a ship owner and hen sold to a farmer in the colonies. A slave was considered property by their owners. Slaves were not set free like indentured servants.
