The Orange Revolution was defined by the east/west differences of folks/people with in the state/country, although it did not end with the permanent division of the state in two new states. It occurred from 2004 to 2005. Mainly focused on how Victor Yushchenko wanted to move the Ukraine more twards the western ways of democracy while Victor Yankovych wanted to follow more traditional ways of which was more conservative and Russian influenced. The first time the election was ran, the Russian influence won, but due to protest and calling the election fraud, the election was help again and Yushchenko from the west won. Disputes still happening, today West of Ukraine is pro democracy, and east is pro conservative and wants to run things more conservative.
