in this video im going to talk to you guys about the Hittites. so, lets begin.

• hittites lived in Anatolia

• Hattusa is capital city

• now modern day Bogazkoy (BOG-HAZ-COY) in Turkey

• next question is when

• lived from about 1700 BC to 1180 BC w/ three kingdom periods in between

• nobody knows when the last one ended

• next question isn’t one of big five but needs asking

• kinds of cities?

• advanced or plain?

• well, lived in city with high walls and lots of architecture

• now for big, standard and even little achievements

• everything counts for something

• things achieved includes conquering and looting Babylon

• too far from home to actually dominate it for as long as possible

• first to smelt and use iron in Sumer

• put them ahead by a lot

• chariots had lots of iron in them

• easy to manoeuvre

• one thing that sets them apart is their beliefs in gods like teshub, sky and storm

• Kamrusepas (healing goddess)

• believed in 1,000

• this was mainly because belief spiked in Middle Kingdom times

• these were huge part of diet

• hittite men wore

• long cloaks

• goes down to their toes

• no particular order, just order of whose pictures i could find

• start off with man who founded Hattusa and first traditional king

• Labarna, ruled from 1680 BC to 1650 BC

• next up is Hattusili III

• son of Mursili II

• ruled from 1267 BC 1237 BC

• following up is Telepinu

• monarch of Old Hittite Kingdom

• ruling time unknown

• also have Mursili II

• adopted by Hattusili III’s grandfather

• ruled from 1650 BC 1590 BC

• many more rulers but very long list of them

• also aren’t enough pictures or specific ruling times

• finally, collapse

• one of main reasons why hittite kingdom lacked a bit

• kingdom only as strong as leader

• king not strong?

• people undoubtedly perish until arrival of a new king

• almost forgot to mention hittites had democratic govmnt

• but ruling period for each king or queen remains unknown

• back on to collapse, how did hittite empire come to an end?

• said that

• overtime many tribes, especially sea people repeatedly attacked

• until they gave in to defeat

• you could also say that empire went down in flames
