Fireside Poets Info                                                        1

The Fireside Poets were a group of New England born poets who became extremely popular in the 1800s because of their "relience on conservative literary styles". This reliance made them popular in schools and households because their poems were often easy to remember. Familes would read them around the fire (hence their name).
