Term
What is statistics?
Definition
Statistics is the process of analyzing data by using the scientific method to answer questions and make decisions. This involves designing studies, collecting good data, describing the data with numbers and graphs, analyzing the data, and then making conclusions.
Term
Once a research questions is defined, what is the next step?
Definition
The next step is designing a study in order to answer that question: what process you'll use to get the data you need.
Term
What is an observational study? What's most common?
Definition
One in which data are collected on invidiausl in a way that that doesnt affect them. Most common observational study is the survey.
Term
What imposes one or more treatments on the participants in a way that clear comparisons can be made
Definition
.Once treatments are applied, the response is recorded.
Term
What are the primary goals of the Research Unit: Economics, Statistics and Life Cycle Analysis Research?
Definition
Provide economic analysis, and projections that indicate the impacts of changing wood products use, and apply modern statistical methods to enhance the integrity and efficiency of FPL research.Economics and statistics is a critical component to the success of research at FPL. Economists provide information indicating how and why the markets and technologies for wood products change over time, implications for natural resources management, and selected broad environmental and social impacts. Statisticians apply modern statistical methods to enhance the integrity and deficiency of biomass utilization research.
Term
How does the Economics, Statistics and Life Cycle Analysis Research unit support other research projects
Definition
by:Providing statistical methods that help develop innovations to expand the competitive use of wood to meet needs and conserve resources;Evaluating the role of market trends and innovations on competitiveness of U.S. firms with foreign firms; andEvaluating the impact on forests of possible forest industry or forest management policies and initiatives that provide new values for wood or conserve wood.
Term
approximation denominator degrees of freedom (DDF) methods. T
Definition
he Kenward–Roger and Sat- terthwaite DDF methods are referred to as approximation methods because they approximate the sampling distributions of test statistics using t and F distributions with the DDF specific to the method for complicated mixed-effects models and for simple mixed models with unbalanced data.
Term
between–within denominator degrees of freedom (DDF) method.
Definition
See repeated denominator degrees of freedom (DDF) method.

Questions for them
Definition
What do you like about your work environment and what do you not like?
At the end of the interview is when I ask 'what are the next steps?' if they don't already tell me, then say, 'so, when can I expect to hear back from you? what's your phone number and email If i don't hear back from you in the next week or so, do you min if i give you a call to follow up? cuz I'm really intesrted in this position' followup calls send a bigger more enthusiastic message.

what's the mission statement of the department of housing and urban development?
Definition
HUD's mission is to create communities of opportunity. The programs and resources of the department help Americans create cohesive, economically healthy communities.. Transform Public nd Assisted housing for strong, sustainable, inclusive, communities and quality affordable homes for all
Term
Do you have references?
Definition
Yes I do. One is my former manager at Ryder, another
Term
Pre-qualify, tell me about your situation? what kind of work are you doing? are you happy? how soon do you want to get out? what kind of compensation are you seeking?
Definition
Term
tell me about yourself
Definition
that I want to leverage for the inspection and quality control systems to provide physically adequate housing to assisted housing residents.
Term
tell me what are some of the things you're good at.
Definition

Term
DO you know how to do any idea (if you haven't) -- competency questions are weighted
Definition
Never say I've never seen something. Instead, let me think about that, you know what, I've done something similar when I (___) to show them tha tyou have some level of understanding of what they're talking about.. life line is 'can we circle back to that question in a minute'
Term
What's an ETL pipeline?
Definition
An ETL Pipeline refers to a set of processes extracting data from an input source, transforming the data, and loading into an output destination such as a database, data mart, or a data warehouse for reporting, analysis, and data synchronization.

The letters stand for Extract, Transform, and Load.
Term
why don't you smile?
Definition
I don't have to
Term
What's Extract in ETL?
Definition
First, data has to be extracted from various sources that are usually heterogeneous such as business systems, APIs, sensor data, marketing tools, and transaction databases, among others. As you can see, some of these data types are likely to be the structured outputs of widely used systems, while others are semi-structured JSON server logs.
Term
What's Transform in ETL?
Definition
The second step consists in transforming the data into a format that can be can be used by different applications. This could mean a change from the format the data is stored in into the format needed by the application that will use the data. Successful extraction converts data into a single format for standardized processing. There are a number of tools that can assist with the ETL process, such as DataStage, Informatica, or SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
Term
What's Load in ETL?
Definition
Finally the information which is now available in a consistent format gets loaded. From now one you can obtain any specific piece of data and compare it in relation to any other pieces of data. Data warehouses can either be automatically updated or manually triggered. How these steps are performed varies widely between warehouses based on requirements. Typically, however, data is temporarily stored in at least one set of staging tables as part of the process. Furthermore, the data pipeline doesn’t have to end when the data gets loaded to a database or a data warehouse; it can also trigger business processes by setting off webhooks on other systems ETL is currently evolving so it is able to support integration across transactional systems, operational data stores, BI platforms, MDM hubs, the cloud, and Hadoop platforms. The process of data transformation is made far more complex because of the astonishing growth in the amount of unstructured data. For example, modern data processes often include real-time data -such as web analytics data from very large e-commerce websites. As Hadoop is almost synonymous with big data, several Hadoop-based tools have been developed to handle different aspects of the ETL process. The tools you can use vary depending on how the data is structured, in batches or if you are dealing with streams of data. As a result, you’ll either be working with a combination of Sqoop and MapReduce, or Flume and Spark.

Affordable Housing Economic Impact Report
The Oklahoma Coalition for Affordable Housing is pleased to release the Oklahoma’s Affordable Housing Act Tax Credit – Economic Impact 2019. The Coalition retained the services of the Oklahoma Department of Commerce: Research and Economic Analysis Division to conduct an assessment on the economic impact of the Oklahoma Affordable Housing Act between 2015-2019.

The Oklahoma Department of Commerce looked at this snapshot in time coupled with the IMPLAN software (an input/output model that helps institutions understand the linkages between industries in the local economy and how policy or changes can influence economic activity).

This economic impact report focuses on construction and permanent employment activities associated with the construction of 97 developments across Oklahoma.

This economic impact report focuses on the construction and permanent employment activities associated the construction of 47 development projects across Oklahoma. The report does not include new developments that will occur after the current 47 projects.

The construction and maintenance investments were modeled separately from regular employment operations. The 47 developments allocated between 2015-2019 occur in 32 communities and 30 counties across Oklahoma and create a direct impact of over $380 million in construction activity for the 2,534 housing units. The Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency allocated $19,106,236 in state affordable housing tax credits during this five-year period.

Tim Smith Housing and Urban Development experiment reference
Definition
the most striking estimates from the Moving to Opportunity experiment indicate that there was a strong positive effect of improved neighborhood quality for individ- uals who were younger than thirteen when they moved, but not for older children (e.g., Chetty et al., 2016).5{5The Moving to Opportunity experiment is an intervention funded and implemented by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) that involved 4,604 families living in high poverty census tracts between 1994 and 1998 in Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York City. Each family was randomly assigned to a group that received either a voucher that subsidized private rents in tracts with poverty rates below 10 percent, a voucher that allowed them to move into subsidized housing without a location constraint, or into the control group. The study has followed individuals who moved since initial assignment, and early studies (e.g. Katz et al. (2001), Kling et al. (2007), Ludwig et al. (2013)), found no evidence for long-term benefits on earnings or employment, although they did find positive effects on mental health and schooling for females. People treated in early childhood reached adulthood relatively recently, however, so these studies are not able to model the effects Chetty et al. (2016) detect for this subgroup.}
