Primary bulla (oral) > viraemia > secondary bulla (oseophagus, rumen), irreg erosions, denuded mucosa

Lesions on head:    vesicles > enlarge, bulla, ulcerate

Lesions on body:   vesicular dermatitis on coronary band - white, myocarditis in young (zenker's disease, tiger heart)

Term
Bovine Viral Diarrhoea
Definition

Flaviviridae - Pestivirus

Cp strain: cytopathic, virulent. Infection of calf during gestation, diarrhoea/resp signs in cow

   - embryonic death - abortion - developmental anomalities in bones and CNS

   - diarrhoea (classic), resp signs, immunosupression

Ncp strain: noncytopathic, non virulent, only calf

   - embryonic death - immunotolerance - seropositivity

   - seropositivity, immunosupression

Ncp cp: mucosal disease (erosions, ulcers, haemorrhagic enteritis, high mortality

Difference to FMD: sharp demarcation, no real bullae, regenerated parts of mm, proliferation, sometimes rupture, not in pigs, Glomerular nephritis, Ncp strain: Seropositivity, Immunosupression secondary infections

Term
Bovine papular stomatitis
Definition

Poxviridae - Parapoxvirus genus

worldwide, zoonosis, young

Herpesviridae → Rhadinovirus

Sheep, cattle

Lesions: erosion and encrustation - necrotic layer on muzzle (coagulative necrosis), catarrhal purulent nasal discharge, lacrimation, corneal opacity

Spreading to other organs (CNS, blood vessels, eye, kidneys, liver, heart)

General signs

Term
