• Public education is not usually thought of as a social welfare activity eventhough the government funds it.

• Social Security and Social Welfare are very synonymous, but they have a slight difference.
• Social Security is very common in a command economy because in a command economy the offical provides resources to all the people, but the people have no voice.

• The American people did not realize that living had become less secure.
• In 1934-35 the dollar amount went from 9.3% to 11.7% as a precentage of the gross natinal product. 
• World War II brought full employment,and reduced the need for public aid and the precentage fell accordingly.

• The old-age retirement system is completely Federal  in character because the actuaries believed that the great movement of workers across State lines made a State by State system unfeasible.

• The chief reason that the United States does not have the general high level of wage in this country.
