Definition
1. joy makes the mind peaceful and relaxes, it benefits the nourishing and defensive Qi and it makes Qi relax and slow down
2. over joy injures the heart, fear counteracts joy
3. Excessive joy dispurses the mind out of its residence

Definition
sadness makes the heart cramped and agitated, this puches towards the lungs' lobes, the upper burner becomes obstructed, nourishing and defensive Qi cannot circulate freely, heat accumulates and dissolves Qi.

3. Symptoms: breathlessness, tiredness, a discomfort feeling in the chest, depression or crying
4. it may deplete liver blood (in women)

Definition

1. it affects the Lung and Spleen

3. Symptoms:

Lung:uncomfortable feeling of the chest, slight breathlessness, tensing of the shoulders, dry cough, weak voice, sighing, pale complexion

Spleen: Poor appetite, slight epigastric discomfort, abdominal distension, tiredness, pale complexion

Definition
Pensiveness makes the heart Qi accumulate, and causes the mind to converge: the upright Qi settles and does not move and therefore Qi stagnates

3. syptoms: nocturnal enuresis, incontinence of urine and diarrhea
4. it may cause Qi rise: palpitations, insomnia, night sweating, dry mouth and malar flush
